L'Arche Antigonish

Back in December 2014, John Smeltzer traveled to Nova Scotia to help celebrate the retirement of his old friend (and ours!) Gus Leuschner. As we remember John this week, we look back on that celebration with gratitude, and give thanks for the incredible gift of relationship we receive over and over again in L'Arche. ... L'Arche Antigonish
To love someone does not mean first of all to do things for that person, it means helping her to discover her own beauty, uniqueness, the hidden light in her heart and the meaning of her life.

L'Arche Internationale
When a life is over, we grieve. But there are certain lives, even certain populations, which society would have us forget. On World Down Syndrome Day – March 21st, we remember Bapi from L’Arche India.

Imagine the world differently.

L'Arche Antigonish

On Tuesday, March 14th, L'Arche communities across the Atlantic Region held prayers for peace. In a world increasingly afraid of difference, in the midst of the politics of fear and division, we see more and more our mission to be messengers of peace.

"A spirit from on high is poured out on us,
and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field,
and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness,
and righteousness abide in the fruitful field.
The effect of righteousness will be peace,
and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust for ever.
My people will abide in a peaceful habitation,
in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting-places."

~Isaiah 32~
